I miss the days when people used to update here all the time. Sigh. I hate it when people move away! I'm still plugging along. Counting the days (TWO MORE!) until Easter vacation! Whoop whoop! Still absolutely loving the living-with-boy thing. It's wicked, and we love our spot. We hang out with our friends downstairs all the time for communal house bbq's and Lost-watching-parties. How sweet is it to have a built-in social gathering right downstairs? Pretty sweet! Anyway, I miss everyone. Lots and lots. | | Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 | | 7:19 am |
Whee heeee! I got another snow day!!!! So very excited. I love snow days!!! Sweet. Now I can finish packing! I cannot believe that in four nights I will be sleeping in my new apartment. Holy cow! | | Friday, January 26th, 2007 | | 7:07 pm |
Holy cripes! What an awful night! It is absolutely disgusting out! I want to see my baby, but I can't go out in this - I'll get in a friggin accident! Damn storm. Why do they always happen on the stupid weekend? Argh! | | Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 | | 9:28 am |
Hee hee! This is my very first PAID snow day! And it couldn't have come at a better time, because I'm dying with the flu and can bearly talk, so teaching would have been rough. Anyway, snow days are the best. I have a whole day to chill out, relax, and do some stuff I need to do. I really need to get some lesson planning out of the way so I won't be too stressed about school when I move (NEXT WEEK! EEK!). And packing stuff up, etc. Ahhhh. Snow day. Sweet. | | Sunday, January 21st, 2007 | | 11:10 pm |
Man. I just had to turn down TWO days of substituting! What the hell is up? There are NO French subs in the city. It so sucks to turn down work, too! Even though I can't take it, I would love to be able to sub for some extra money and connections. That's it, I guess. I'm so happy I have my job, so you can't have it all! I love my job. How awesome is that? And I can't wait to move. Life rules! (Knock on wood!) | | Friday, January 19th, 2007 | | 5:26 pm |
This has been a crazy week. The first few days really dragged, and then all of a sudden it was Friday! Weird. Another weird thing: I got a substitute call almost every day this week, and had to turn them all down. This is weird, because last January I only worked 3 days and was begging to work, and this year I'm turning down work left, right, and center! I'm hoping to start picking through all my crap this weekend and start figuring out what I'm moving with! I'm going to have to leave 2/3 of my stuff here because I have way too much. And 2/3 of my clothes don't fit me. Boo. Anyway! I can't wait !!!!!!! I'm so totally excited. It is going to be such a huge change for me, for us. It's going to be weird, but it's going to be great! Anywho, take care all! Have a good weekend. | | Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 | | 4:25 pm |
My God, is it Wednesday already? The weeks are going so fast. I can't believe that in two weeks I'll be in my own apartment with my babe. It's so crazy! I have so so much to do. The next two months are going to be insane. First moving, then report cards, then interviews. Crazy. Oh well. That's life. I can't wait to move out!!! WHEEEE! | | Friday, December 29th, 2006 | | 5:17 pm |
I have to say, this was one of the best Christmases that I can remember. I got to spend time with Sean and his family, we had my family over a few times, lots of time with friends. It was wonderful. I have to say. And now I get to look for apartments with my baby! I am so so so so so excited! I got dishes for Christmas, too! How cool is that! Anyway. The "in-laws" are coming in tonight, so I have to prepare. New Year's soon! Can't wait! When is dinner, and in what MyBro's Place is it? Let me know and we'll be there! | | Tuesday, October 31st, 2006 | | 10:05 pm |
Ugh. I'm sick again. Dammit. I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Aches and pains and chills and such. Oh well! I have a PD day tomorrow, which means no kiddies, no planning, etc. And I get to do an inservice about Kindergarten, which I hope will be helpful. Anyway. Back to my chair, my blanket, and my heating pad. Stupid flu. | | Sunday, October 29th, 2006 | | 5:30 pm |
Whew. What an absolutely gross day here in St. John's! Windy, rainy and cold. Yuck. Had a good weekend, pretty crazy but fun. Party hopped in our costumes - Sean had the best Star Wars costume ever that he made with his friend (he was the dude played by Liam Neeson - I'm not even going to attempt to spell it. But he looked awesome!). I was, of course, dressed as a student of Hogwarts. Because I'm a total dork. But it was cool anyway! Back to the grind again. The last few weeks have been insane, what with field trips, Hallowe'en preparations and such, and this week is obviously going to be nuts too. But on Wed. we have an inservice, which means no sugar-filled, tired children. Good stuff. Report cards go out in a month. I am so so so nervous. Have to get started on them now. So that's my life. I miss everyone. I cannot wait until Christmas! | | Thursday, August 10th, 2006 | | 3:04 pm |
WEEEEEEEE! I found a dress! Hooray! I love it. It looks pretty, and I feel so much better now about being in front of a whole church of people now that I like what I'm wearing! Plus, after trying on pretty much EVERY dress at Sears, I managed to find one that I like, that looks good, and that was half off! Gotta love that! Ah. Now I get to accessorize! ;) | | Sunday, August 6th, 2006 | | 11:14 pm |
I had a good day, after a kind of trying weekend. I don't know why, but I've been really touchy lately, and it hasn't been good. I've been doing so much running around, I've got myself completely frazzled. Between worrying about losing weight, worrying about September, worrying about things I don't want to get into here, I just haven't been myself. And that really sucks, because I want to be able to enjoy my last month of freedom before school starts and who knows what I'll be doing. I'm chilling out at home tonight, trying to get back to normal a bit. I had a really nice walk this evening, which relaxed me a lot. As for all the things on my mind, who knows. I just hope I can feel better about things soon. Ugh. Anyway. | | Sunday, July 30th, 2006 | | 12:17 pm |
I really enjoyed the bbq last night, and seeing everyone. We don't see each other NEARLY enough! I missed those who weren't there, though. Unfortunately, I got really really stomach sick when I left, so I had to go home instead of staying at the babe's house. There were a lot of people there, but I just was NOT in the mood for a party. So I came home by myself. I feel much better now, though. Now I'm going for a walk, I think, before I drive the babe to work. I can't decide where to go. I think I'll walk by the babe's house, around the pond a couple of times. It's a beautiful day! | | Friday, July 28th, 2006 | | 9:23 pm |
Oh, dear. After an insane week of partying, I decided to take a nice, quiet night at home by myself tonight. And now I'm kind of regretting it! Dad's at Ferryland, and I'm here all by myself. The babe is at a party, but I really didn't want to go, so I rented some movies, etc. Ah, it's 9:30. I've got tv. I'll be fine! I'm going to watch "Most Haunted" now. And scare the shit out of myself. I do this every time, but I just can't stop watching that damn show! Bye all. | | Wednesday, July 26th, 2006 | | 6:17 pm |
I had THE best weekend! Thursday I partied hardy and had my solo début singing a song at my friends' show - fun fun! And I really enjoyed Sabrina's shower and bacherlorette party on Saturday, especially the latter! It was so much fun to hang out with the girls, drinking and being silly, like old times! We should really do it more often! Who says we need a bridal party to go crazy? We should go crazy all the time! I had one of the best cabin trips ever this weekend. The babe had Mon. and Tues. off, so we went up to a friend's "cabin" in Mahers for Sunday night. I say "cabin" because it was really more like a house - satellite tv, air hockey table (I discovered I love air hockey, by the way!), and all the modern conveniences. It was still a great time, though! Then people had to leave for work on Mon. morning, so me and the babe decided to go for a drive to Bay Roberts, packed around in some dollar stores, and then went for lunch in Whiteway! It was great! Then to his cabin near Placentia for the night. We had a fun night full of drinking games, and yesterday we had the BEST swim ever in the pond up there! Today I was totally tired, but I just made myself get up and go for a walk around the neighbourhood. It was great. I love this walking thing! It rocks! Hopefully I'll do the walk from babe's work again tomorrow when I drop him off after his supper break. Anyway, enough blabbing! See ya! | | Sunday, July 16th, 2006 | | 11:06 pm |
I had a pretty good weekend. Friday the babe had some people from work over for a poker game, and it was a good night. Saturday I was disappointed, because we had had a big camping trip planned for people's birthdays for over a month, and after a month of great weather, we got rained out! Well, it wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be, but we had already pussed out and decided not to camp, so we stuck with that plan. We went up and sat by the fire for a while, though, so that was fun. Today was a total chill-out day. I've been engrossed and obsessed by the Davinci Code since Thursday. I read it all weekend while the babe was playing video games, and I'm almost done. So, now I have the perfect solution for when he's gaming - I just have to find incredibly addictive books to read! I find the writing style very lacking and crappy, but the story's sure a page-turner! I want to go on another walk tomorrow, so I hope it's nice out. Off to enjoy the rest of the nice relaxing Sunday. | | Thursday, July 13th, 2006 | | 2:48 pm |
I just went for a nice 1/2 hour walk to the Village today. It felt great. I hope I can beat my inherent laziness and keep doing this, at least a couple of times a week. I feel so much better when I actually get up and do something active. I should do this more often!!! | | Thursday, July 6th, 2006 | | 1:12 pm |
Home from my big special anniversary celebration. I have to say, that it was the most wonderful night I've ever had! We had a lovely relaxing dinner, relaxed in the hot tub, did some other things ;) , watched a movie in our beautiful room, and had a lovely breakfast this morning. I am so relaxed and chilled out right now - it was so lovely. I would recommend that place to anyone. Ahhhh. So relaxed! | | Wednesday, June 21st, 2006 | | 2:35 pm |
Well, the end of the school year is actually here! I haven't gotten any calls this week. I didn't really expect any, but you never, ever know with subbing! I guess this is it for the year. It's been a crazy experience, but a good one over all. This week has been crazy too - non-stop partying! Monday we watched the hockey game (BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!) and I won an 8-person game of poker - score! Then we had a lovely outdoor jam session and watched the sun rise! Nice. Then last night it was open mic night at O'Reilly's, and tonight a friend is playing a show at the martini bar (I believe it's the one above Peddlers', if anyone is interested in coming by!). Then tomorrow night another group of friends are playing downtown. Good first week of summer! I hope the rest of the summer is going to be a bit more relaxed. I can't go at top speed for much longer! I need a nice relaxing few days. | | Monday, June 19th, 2006 | | 9:05 am |
So, it's the last week of school. I worked two days last week (Wed. I worked at a school for the first time! Why are they choosing NOW to start calling me? I have no time to make an impression! Anyway.). No idea whether I'll get a call or not this week. Just like every other week this year, it is absolutely impossible to predict when you'll get called in. Sometimes when you think it's a sure thing, it doesn't happen; and then when you think it's unlikely, it does! I've had a wild ride with my first year of subbing. I've learned a whole lot, and gotten a lot of experience (I've had 66 days!), but I am REALLY looking forward to having the summer off! I've already been on my first official camping trip of the summer - we went to Ferryland Saturday night. It was gorgeous. I can't wait till everyone is back in town so we can all go up together, hopefully! I really miss everyone so much. Well, here I am, up again at 9 in the morning with nothing to do. I'm going to install the software for my brand new digital camera (b-day present from Dad, that I finally got last week - it was out of stock everywhere!). Then probably cross-stitch. Then who knows. |
